I applied for the Analyst position and had the first interview with the recruiter went well. He was pleasant, we talked about the role, location, experience, and SALARY expectations.
The second Interview was with the hiring manager and director. Very standard interview and it appears they were unprepared at times with some of the questions. We went over my resume and experience as it relates to the role. I was actually excited about the position because it sounded like it’ll be challenging.
A week later, I was contacted by the recruiter to complete a Microsoft Office assessment which I thought was a waste of time. It had nothing to do with the role.
I was contacted some days later with an offer with a salary below what the recruiter and I discussed. I thanked the team and proceeded to negotiate the offer, requesting the salary I talked about with the recruiter. They got back to me some days later with a No on the salary increase and PULLED their offer, stating they've selected someone else. I was shocked! I’ve never had a company pull an offer in the negotiating process when the salary expectations were made clear from the start. They could have just said No and waited for my response.
Glad I will not be working for a company who make such decisions.
