Multiple interviews with HR and key stakeholders, the latter included C-level executives. Typical interview questions but was surprised upper management was necessary to interview me for the position. It seemed to me like overkill.
I was told by my last interviewer - at that point, I had five interviews, two of which were with the same/last person - that I’d either be contacted for another interview or an update. Neither happened. A little over a week passed and I decided to email HR (since the Labor Day holiday might have put a wrench in the works).
I got a terse (not rude) email that the position was filled. That’s fine, but after all that time spent interviewing - taking time out of my schedule - a professional courtesy would’ve been to email me or at least send an auto-generated rejection email. This is not a company of Google-sized proportion; it’s small and, therefore, human interaction is still possible with candidates - rejected or accepted. Keep that in mind as you grow.
