The recruiter seemed pretty unenthusiastic when speaking to me. I also spent a week straight working on a take home and I never heard back, not even any feedback. Disappointed to work that much on something without any feedback or suggestions.

My experience with this process, highlighted several areas where Amperon’s recruiting approach could be significantly improved. Delayed and Unclear Communication: Follow-ups were met with silence from the recruiter, leading to unnecessary uncertainty. The Docker compose file was reported as non-functional, which contradicted my thorough testing and verification, including successful application startup as outlined in the provided README file. The criticism regarding code structure and the use of a "home-rolled database connection manager" seemed misplaced. My submission utilized the psycopg2 library for PostgreSQL connectivity, a standard and widely accepted practice in the industry. Furthermore, my code included comprehensive unit tests running via GitHub Actions, ensuring functionality and stability. This discrepancy leads me to believe that the feedback might have mistakenly been based on another candidate’s submission. Suggestions for Improvement: Improve communication timeliness and clarity. Ensure feedback accuracy to reflect the candidate's actual submission. The interview experience was disheartening, highlighting a need for better organization and candidate consideration in Amperon's hiring process.
