I was a bit reluctant to respond to an unsolicited interest via LinkedIN given the less than favorable reputation of AEP in the Texas electricity market. But, since I had indstry experience I decided to learn about a particular role that sounded interesting (ETT Tech Project Lead Sr.) There was a quick phone screen after which I was asked to complete the online application. The next step was a panel interview, via video. Following the interview, I was informed to expect a call "early next week" for another interview (on site). After a week went by, having heard nothing, I contacted AEP to inquire about follow up interview. There was no reply. Completely ghosted. Quite unprofessional. To say that my candidate experience was less than ideal is an understatement. My advice to Texas job candidates: pay attention to not just candidate feedback, but also check into AEPs reputation in Texas.
