This was not the normal process for interviewing candidates. Of Altium's executive had introduced me to the CEO 2.5 years ago and we had stayed in touch. Altium management decided it wanted to pursue an inorganic growth strategy and the CEO reached out to inquire about by interest in joining the team. We we met for a couple of hours and we mutually expressed interest in working together.
