A recruiter reached out to set up a phone call and sent links to read about the company prior to the call. I interviewed with a recruiter named Laura. She started by just droning on and on about AlphaSights (seemed like she was reading off a set piece of paper which felt even less personalized) without even asking me one question such as 'how are you today' and within the first 5 minutes i lost all interest from the lack of genuine interaction. Laura then asked me some questions about myself. As I started to dive into my background (which most recruiters ask for MORE details on) Laura actually cut me off and said if I could focus on current experiences that would be great (signaling she did not care to learn about my background.) No exaggeration, this is the most negative interview I have ever had. The recruiter is supposed to be the most people-facing yet I was left with a more negative impression than I started with.
