this will be an indepth review that focuses on the stages after the HR stage.
the first stage is a video interview, in which they ask 4 simple questions. Many of the questions can already be found upon reading more glassdoor reviews. After, I had a google meets HR interview with the alphasights recruiter. this last around 30minutes and its pretty simple behavioural questions. no trick questions. practice on your STAR format in answering and you'll be find.
the tricky bit starts here. I first had an interview with an Alphasights manger to do the case study round. it was a lot harder than I was expecting. you'd be given a brief and asked to identify 2 experts. he mainly wanted to understand your thinking process rather than the actual answer. but the brief is not easy to understand if you've not had much commercial experience. specifically, I failed because i didn't understand what specific consultancies/ hedge funds did, therefore I couldn't understand what information they'd be looking to gain from alphasights . this is my biggest advise - do your research and understand consultancies, investment banks, private equity firms etc. this is the secret in understanding the brief, and don't just read their case study on their website.
immediately after, I had an interview with the VP. I must say although I didn't get the job I really admire the interview process. the way the VP interviewed me is exactly how interviews should be done. there was no BS. he wanted to know about me, my experience growing up, me as a person and what motivates me. he wasn't interested in hearing your rehearsed STAR format. he wanted genuine answers. he even spent and extra 30mins to get to know me better to really understand if I would be a good fit with the role. the conversation was quite deep if I'm honest, but this interview was different to any I've ever experienced and it makes me feel like alphasights really care about you as a person and want to only find ppl they know will be happy there since it is an extremely tough, fast paced and stressful job.
ultimately i feel like i didn't get the job because of my lack of sales experience and my degree was not relevant to business. my only criticism is that I have spent so long preparing for the interview and despite getting to the final stage alphasights did not offer feedback due to high number of applicants.

Initial call with a recruiter to gain an insight into the role. This was followed by two subsequent calls with more senior members of staff which entailed more technical questions. A language test also had to be carried out.

The interview process was three rounds. Initial screening, one on one interview, I didn't make it past the second round, but there was a final interview with team lead afterward.

Stay away. Realized how much of a scam it is as I went through- ended on my own accord after final round. There will be no exit opportunities with this company whatsoever. You will be stuck. Know some friends who have worked here and regret every second of it.
