      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 3 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez AirDev en févr. 2022

      Entretien

Initial introductory chat and a quick 20-minute analytics exercise ( these are basic logic questions. You need to have a pen, paper, possibly a calculator and have had a quick coffee beforehand!). If you like problem solving and logic, take your time and they'll be fun! This was followed by a one on one interview as well as a longer interview including a task. The final stage was to chat with some current team members. Lots of communication throughout the process and opportunities to ask questions and clarify next steps throughout.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

A refreshing mix that balanced personal with role-specific questions. Expect standard "why do you want this role?" type questions, but also be prepared to speak honestly about yourself; parts of the process were looking to deep-dive into how you think and work on the day-to-day. E.g. Why did you decide to work at your last company? Or study *that* subject at University? At each stage I felt I was being asked questions that genuinely sought to explore my experience and skills and check to see how well they aligned with the role and company for my sake as well as the company's. That's really important to me, and was refreshing compared to other processes I've experienced that say, focus explicitly on ticking competency boxes. I felt questions were asked in a transparent manner (as well as having a calm, informal feel) and were never abstract or asked for the sake of it. There was always room for discussion and back-and-forth. E.g. What do you enjoy doing at work? What brings you satisfaction? If you were to choose whether to spend your day speaking with others or working alone, which would you choose? Why? What's something you don't enjoy doing at work? Questions from the team dove more into logistics and specifics of operating between departments - e.g. what are some friction points you might expect to encounter doing the role? These were useful for getting a feel of how the role functions within the company.

Take a skills test (it’s more difficult than I thought it would be for a timed test and for this type of role). I passed and I got an email to schedule an interview. During the on camera interview, the interviewer was quite dismissive after i explained the gap in my resume was because I was a business owner of an unrelated field (not in IT/sales/AE/customer success) for a few years and didn’t stay in corporate and I wanted to highlight my extensive experience in corporate on my resume. There was no chance for rapport. The interviewer was at home and ready to get off the phone to do personal things. I really wanted to champion the company because I love the idea of business owners using their platform to create apps without code, so it sucked to not get a real chance.

Why did you leave a director role and why would you want to take a non management role now?

Like others have mentioned here, before your 15 minute phone screen you need to take an assessment with questions akin to those on a middle-school test. The questions had nothing to do with the position whatsoever. I was appalled that this is how they weed out candidates, rather than actually talking to the person about their skills and qualifications. It gave me a terrible impression of a company that I was excited to meet with due to their product. I immediately withdrew my application because of this experience. Please do better.

      Question 1

The knave/joker question, some mathematical questions that a CSM would never need to figure out.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, we appreciate it, even if we are sorry to hear that your experience as a candidate was less than positive. The exercise you mention is one step in our application process that is used and reviewed differently depending on the role specific needs and requirements. Again, we appreciate the time you took to write the review and will take it in consideration as we continue developing our process. We wish you all the best!
