When I interviewed for the position I have now , that's what my interviews were like. It makes the whole process a lot more like collaborative problem solving - the kind of things you'll be doing at the job - and a lot less like "here's a question I already know the answer to, you have 20 minutes". It was a much better experience and I look back on those phone interviews recalling that they were actually sort of fun.
