I took a 45 minute assessment, which included some difficult questions and a web cam video portion. Then the recruiter reached out to me and we arranged a call. The recruiter never showed up for the call, and told me that it was previously canceled due to a time conflict, but it remained on my calendar. Then she told me she would reschedule and I never heard from her again. Completely unprofessional from an established company, particularly after completely the lengthy assessment.

I was reached out by a Talent Acquisition Specialist via LinkedIn. She was very helpful during the entire interview process and gave me so many pointers on what to expect and how to tackle each interview. Even she offered to have a separate session to help me with the interview. 1st interview was with a Product manager who is Indian, and she was super nice, and it was a really nice experience (probably the best interview I had in my career). She made sure that I was comfortable, and she asked about my experience mostly, and she answered all the questions that I had. The 2nd interview was with a Senior SEO Manager, which went well. He asked about practical case studies relevant to Agoda, it felt like a conversation rather than an interview. He was also professional, and the interview was full on technical. 3rd interview was with their CMO who is Italian. From the very beginning he was a bit strict, but I assume he is the CMO and that’s how it was supposed to be. He went through my resume, and I had an experience which overlapped, meaning I was working for a company while working as a freelancer for another. I think this was one of the main reasons for him rejecting my application (you have to remove such experiences or modify your CV before applying). Also, by the end of when I asked about the career progression, he was bit unprofessional and said, there is no such thing in Agoda as it’s still a medium scale company. I understand that’s the truth, but he may have worded it in a professional manner (So please don’t ask such questions if you are getting ready for an interview here). I’ve read some other reviews regarding the same Italian director (may be before he got promoted), saying he was bit harsh and rude. While I was explaining my experience, I noticed that he was not paying attention or listening which is unprofessional. Anyway I still haven’t received my rejection mail, but I can assume they would reject it based on my 3rd interview. I tried my best and tried to make it friendly, but it was not successful at all with this person. Overall it was a really nice experience (except for the 3rd interview), just be ready when you apply and don’t make mistakes as I did. 😊
