The interview was overall straight forward, but with unnecessary steps and shortcomings on the part of the hiring manager that reeks of laziness.
I am an instructional designer who was recently de-staffed due to funding. My former VP has all of my trainings I created. This was expressed in the interview and I even provided a letter of reference from my VP as well as direct instructions to contact her for copies of my created work.
They very clearly did not do this as the job was offered to "someone with a portfolio". Additionally, I had offered to create a training for them, though this was disseminated to the senior professional on the team 5 minutes before our interview--according to her.
This was ultimately an unnecessary step in the hiring process as they had already made their decision to move on to someone who had a readily accessibly portfolio.
This is laziness at its finest. This is callousness. This is a theft of hope.
