I recently attended two interview rounds with Acko. The first round focused on discussing my past projects, where the interviewer explored how I would handle scenarios requiring changes to the project, emphasizing adaptability and problem-solving. The second round was a system design discussion, where I was asked to design a system similar to Uber with modified functionalities. However, the interviewer appeared to lack technical depth, which led to some confusion and lack of clarity in defining the system requirements and flow during the conversation.

Recruiter contacted me over the phone for Opportunity in Acko. 1. Exploratory 2. Problem Solving (It is mentioned as Problem Solving in Mail, Surprise it was System Design) 3. System Design 4. Product Interview 5. Hiring Manager 1st Round was exploratory - Discussed on my interests, my tech stack. Company projects, tech stack etc. 2nd Round. - Mentioned as Problem Solving, But Interviewer asked me on Api Rate Limiter. Interviewer is itself confused on should we test on LLD/Algorithmic part or HLD/System Design. Ended up discussions both Algorithmic and HLD. I started with sliding window algorithm which runs on Single machine, then extended that to make it Distributed. But it looked like Interviewer is not pleased starting from single machine approach he was directly expecting Distributed approach right from start. At the end i asked for feedback he said it was good and I asked any changes needed, He said it is alright you covered all cases. But the interviewer gave negative feedback. 3rd Round - Design Uber Backend - I gave an approach of dividing the world map into dynamic grids and cabs will be pushing location statuses, Riders will be asking drivers from their Grids and Book the Cab. Interviewer is okay with the solution. 4th Round - On Acko Product and Asked me to design if i was given chance to design Acko backend. 5th Round - Hiring Manager - Looked like Hiring manager was not in good mood Or he already decided to Reject, Kept on asking questions like you haven't worked in startup can you give me reasons why you have to work for Acko Startup. And he started asking questions like why you dont know latest version of Java(I know only till Java 8). He was not impressed by my challenges in the work, There is few skills in my resume at last like Kafka, Nodejs these technologies I didnt work in my companies but rather on my own in my local machine and know few things on these, thats why I mentioned at last. I guess he intentionally asked the deep dive questions on these topics so that he can reject me easily. He didn't see me that I was passionate in learning these technologies even tough i ddd't encounter in my work. As soon as Hiring manager round done, With in a minute I got a mail from Acko Hiring system I got rejected. Look at here, Hiring manager/Recruiters didn't even discuss internally the strengths and weaknesses of Interviewee and come to conclusions, straight forward reject as soon as call ends. HR didn't organize the hiring process well, They schedule interview but the meeting links won't be there. We have to follow up for the meeting links when the interview starts, there you loose 10 minutes of interview.
