      Entretien

      I was an intern at A+E Networks the summer of 2015. This year I applied for to an Associate Editor position on the digital team. I was invited to interview a total of four times between March 31 and May 12. I was interviewed first with HR, then with a team lead, then with three team members on a panel, and then with a VP. During this six week process, I was not kept up to date on the process's progress despite following up. This was the most interviews and the longest time I've spent when being considered for a role. It was also the worst experience I've ever had as a candidate. After I was interviewed the fourth time, I was offered a job with another company and I let the HR team know. By this point, I'd been going through the process with them for over nine weeks, and thought for sure I would at least be considered far along enough for a response. They said nothing. I decided that I didn't want to work anywhere that didn't value my time and effort in undergoing this long, drawn out process with them, so I took the other role. I'm really disappointed because I had a great experience as an intern there years prior. Not only that, in my interviews I was told about how 'kindness' was a central value at the company. Dragging someone along for over two months, never without a word of progress, and with no acknowledgement of my candidacy at that late stage was not kind. I found the process to be quite hypocritical. I hope to never be treated this way by a company again. Perhaps I was being repeatedly interviewed to fill a diversity quota. Either way, it was cruel, and in hindsight I am glad I wasn't hired because this is a sign of something being very seriously 'off' internally.
