I was given a take home test before getting to speak with anyone which I spent 15 hours on. I was originally told that after passing the take home test, I would be presenting my work to the hiring manager. This changed and instead I was told there would be a 15 minute screening with someone who was not the hiring manager nor had any part in the team I would be working on first. They came in late clearly already upset about something and rushed through introductions. They were talking so fast and so far away from their laptop that their mic was cutting out because zoom was treating it as background noise and when I tried to explain the issue, they told me my wifi was the issue and it wasn’t their fault. I did not make it on to the next round. After spending 15 hours on the game home project, to change the steps in the process they originally told me and kick me out of the running because this person not involved in the team and not qualified to evaluate the work I did was in a bad mood and doesn’t understand how noise filtering works really hurts and puts a bad taste in my mouth about the company.
