Overall the process was fine. However, they take A LOT of information from you (ideas, processes, program ideation, success drivers, etc.) throughout the process. It is expected employers need to understand they are hiring the right candidate for the role, however 1Password requires several (5+) interviews to be considered a finalist for a position. I made it to this stage and was confident I got the job based on feedback and the level of detail I provided. I was then "ghosted" for weeks until I was sent a blanket rejection email. I am fine, I landed a role at a much more strategic and forward thinking company that has it's organization aligned (unlike 1Password where interviewers divulged a lot of company issues) but I don't think for this type of role putting a candidate through that much and harvesting ideas is not right.

Question 1
Give me an example of a program you managed that had lack of alignment?
Very involved process with 5 interviews and a written assignment. Far too involved for a mid-level position. The people are very friendly. Interview questions were supplied in advance, which obviously helped ease anxiety. Unfortunately, going through this extensive interview process doesn't mean that they are serious about your candidacy, or about hiring anyone at all. I was primed by the recruiter to expect an offer, and then was ghosted until I followed up multiple times. I've since seen the job re-posted.

I had a screening call with their TA team first, and they were great. Thoughtful, familiar with my experience, and able to answer detailed questions about the job. They also had a thorough breakdown of what the job would entail ready to roll so I didn't have to ask. (All other steps in the process were over Zoom.)
Next, I met with the hiring manager for an hour, and they were also prepared with more about the team and who I'd be working with. Went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and keep the interview conversational.
After that, I had 2 x 1 hrs with business stakeholders and then an hour with someone I'd be working with daily. Then another 30 mins with the hiring manager to answer any other questions I had.
Every person I met seemed even nicer than the last. Above that, they were accomplished, insightful about the org and where it's going, and genuinely interested in my experience. It was the most comfortable interview process I've had and every step made me more excited about working with this team.
I received an offer but it would have been a positive experience either way. Run, don't walk, to a job here.
