Avantages
- Well-optimized package that outcompetes other companies for starting positions (Junior-Mid). Flat salary progression onwards though. - Lot's of "bells and whistles" that make company stand out at first glance. BBQ parties, movie nights, etc. - Great PR that allows to acquire talented and passionate people - Active involvement in open-source community
Inconvénients
- ROOTS core values are being gradually disregarded - most important competence is to get along with Leads - No clear career path (although efforts are being made) - Some Tech Leads are there through favourism, not the actual competences - Avoiding well-deserved raises through making you feel unappreciated, i.e. "overperforming should be a standard" - Lack of transparency on matters that impact chargeability of consultants (e.g. topic of Flemish Training Leave, an important government benefit was silenced for as long as possible) - Overall feeling that career progression is highly correlated with how much time you spend with C-level and 2nd-line management.
