Plenty of hands-on work with advanced semiconductor equipment. Exposure to global engineers and real manufacturing processes. Opportunity to learn troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and system operations. Training is detailed and technical. Great stepping-stone for careers in automation, engineering, or technical training.
Inconvénients
Workload can become heavy during releases or upgrades. Some team communication can be slow, and priorities shift quickly. Not every department has a structured growth path. Pay progression could be more competitive for the Bay Area cost of living.

-Hiring seems egalitarian
-The pay was fairly good
-Occasional company lunches
Inconvénients
-An endless parade of wasteful daily 30-minute meetings... two per day for some people
-Very early hours are the norm; most employees start at 6:00-8:00 AM
-The workforce is largely dull suburbanites, with 7-8 males for every female
-The office has its fair share of unpleasant bully types. Rigid thinking and low education seem common as well. I suspect this is because Veeco has a big military recruitment program, and ever since it bought Ultratech (of San Jose, CA) back in 2017, MAGA types have become more common. It's probably no coincidence how in recent years, the San Jose branch's Glassdoor score has sunk down to near Veeco's national average.
