      Great business idea but cleeky and toxic culture - Avis employé Marketing & Sales Executive VC Innovations

      Avantages

      CEO came up with a good business idea which makes the company quite unique and cool. It is an interesting industry to work in and you get to work with some exciting big technology companies. They use a lot of new tools and products which gives you an opportunity to gain experience quite quickly and learn useful skills that are transferable. Some of the content they create is really intesting to read and some of the companies we worked with did some great things for the industry and people around the world. Its a small company so you are able to work on various projects that may be outside of your comfort zone and you also get to know everyone in the company.

      Inconvénients

      Leadership give you a feeling of being replacable at any moment to make you work harder and the leadership style is authoratative and strict. The two owners of the business are a married and bring personal issues to work with them and because they are maried hey play good cop, bad cop in most scenarios which makes everyone feel on edge. Client campaigns often dont deliver on the clients expectations. Which is demotivating because you work so hard to deliver but dont get any satisfaction as your clients are unhappy and your work is then criticised / devalued. Staff turnover is high which makes working there chaotic which constant change and big gaps in the team.

      Avantages

      I’ve been with the company for almost four years and have worked across a few different areas. Being a small business, you’re given the space to try things out, discover what you’re good at, and really play to your strengths. My experience has been genuinely positive and naturally led me into marketing. I’ve been given a lot of freedom to manage social campaigns and contribute to the wider strategy across marketing services and events, which has been incredibly valuable. Management listens, supports new ideas, and never makes you feel ignored - the team are always supportive if you want to suggest or try something new.

      Inconvénients

      Late hours can happen due to the nature of the fintech events business, which is expected and not something I mind.
