Avantages

The staff is nice. The overall atmosphere is pleasant. Compensation and benefits is decent.

Inconvénients

It’s impossible to get anything done. From the constant customer demands to the running back and forth for customer order pickups, answering the phone all day, and working on freight, there is little to no time for me to accomplish any projects, especially if we’re short on staff. Having to pivot every 20 minutes is awful. I’ve never worked anywhere where it was such an immense struggle to keep productivity up. I know that the ultimate goal is to provide customer service and limit tasking, but when my job is primarily operational, it is very difficult to balance the two. Some days I am lucky if I can get more than 15 minutes together to complete my tasks. If I didn’t advocate for it, I would get no office time. Onboarding training was very in-depth in some aspects, and sadly lacking in others. They warned me that it is a very physical job, and boy were they right. I’m exhausted every day. Mind you, I am a relatively healthy young person, but I’m rendered almost useless every night when I get home. This company revolves around closet design. It makes or breaks us. It’s frustrating when we bust our butts working and only make half our goal because there were no closet sales. The closet customers, while mostly respectful and loyal, have very complicated issues with their orders. They expect all of us to know every detail about their orders, but the reality is that knowing the closet systems and all the components is very challenging. Our store contains 10,000+ SKUs, and the sheer magnitude of knowing the product and processing freight is daunting. Maybe this is fine for others, but it is extremely frustrating for me.

Avantages

Everyone from director level on down in my department was great. Very collaborative. Gave you autonomy to do and try new things.

Inconvénients

Where do I start…Sr. Leadership is TERRIBLE. I mean absolutely horrific. No direction and plans were changing at the drop of a dime after the BB&B “merger”. You could feel the shift in the culture, just NASTY attitudes and taking the employees for granted. The new CEO and the rest of Sr. level execs acted like everyone was just expendable workhorses. They touted reopening the headquarters cafe as some awesome benefit so they could bring people back to the office full time. If you’re going to be bullish and require everyone back, have some guts and just do it. But don’t act like a cafe is some life changing benefit to get everyone excited. Anyway, blind leading the blind. The merit increase or raises - non existent. No 401k match. Nothing positive because the company is so broke. The new store concept sounds a mess. Save yourself and don’t even apply, let alone accept an offer. Joel Bines is no longer the CEO. He was a great guy and I think he had great ideas. Marcus Lemonis is the new CEO and I would give him a thumbs down.
