Avantages
Managers have good interpersonal skills and are understanding and looking to help. Team members are friendly and this store is a friendly welcoming community of people. Pay is competitive and hours are usually pretty good and consistent. Store is well run, clean, and pride is taken in how the store is run.
Inconvénients
Cart attendant position has too many responsibilities and expectations. On busy days you might have to be outside all day working on carts yet are still expected to do things inside. Often asked to do things that other teammates just don't really want to do. Cart attendant is not the easiest position here, and can be quite stressful at really busy times. I would recommend applying for guest/checkout advocate or drive-up instead of front of store attendant, although drive-up has a handful of its own problems. While the cart attendant position has a lot of room for improvement, managers understand the overall challenges of the position and are understanding. My other issue is with scheduling. Scheduling doesn't always make much sense. I often get scheduled alone on carts for 8 hour shifts for days which can be expected to be extremely busy. Then get scheduled with 3-4 other cart attendants on the slowest days of the year like new years eve. I don't quite understand it and it makes the job more difficult. When I am not scheduled with any help, it is impossible to do all indoor tasks as well as keeping the carts in healthy number. Cart attendant is not a 1 person job at a massive super target store, yet we are often scheduled without any help.
