But this does not absolve senior leadership of their responsibility to initiate major changes. Burnout at SNet is endemic. There ought to be true and deep listening and response to the needs of workers at all levels in the organization, including good-faith bargaining with the unions for more livable wages and working conditions. Leadership needs to show more bravery in standing up to unreasonable demands of state funders including caseloads, documentation, deadlines, etc.
