Avantages
The best thing about working here is that the pay isn't as bad as other rent to own stores such as Rent A Center, Aaron's etc. It's not that hard to get hired, you don't need any experience or a degree and if you stick with you can easily get promoted to store manager. Opportunities for advancement come quickly if your willing to work at different stores in the area. Your first start out as an acct. manager which pretty much means you do everything, from there you move up to collections mgr., then sales & service mgr. and finally store manager. For someone with no education or work experience it can be a decent job.
Inconvénients
The downsides greatly outweigh the pros. It's a rent to own store which means you'll be dealing with poor people who can't afford to buy it or just your average scumbag off the street. The main downside is feeling sorry for all the customers. They're already poor as it is and then totally ripping them off really weighs on your conscience because you pretty much do anything to get people to rent stuff. The company treats it's customers like animals. Your expected to wear a long sleeve dress shirt, tie, slacks, and nice shoes to work which sucks when you have to go out and deliver washers/driers, refrigerators and other stuff in 100 degree heat. You will get dirty and sweaty. This is pretty much predatory lending. You have to do collections which means you knock on people's homes and repo their stuff if they don't pay. This job is a cross b/w a repo man and sales. To be fair, you can make some money if you make it to store manager but you won't sleep well at night knowing your ripping people off. Also, the work schedule isn't that great, you work every saturday. Your required to work overtime only instead of getting time and a half, you get half-time which means for every hour of overtime you actually make half of your hourly wage! Since your repoing poor people's fridges, washers and driers, you have to clean them after they're returned so you can expect to see tons of roaches. Gross! They then rent these out to other customers
