Some people are nice and fun.

Inconvénients

I took the job and I knew I shouldn’t. The interview was strange. Awkward. Then good. Then confrontational and weird. I got the offer and felt torn. Something told me to turn it down and they asked me specifically what my hesitations were. And I let them talk me into it, ignoring my instincts. Maybe you feel the same if you’re contemplating an offer. I have seen multiple negative reviews online that have disappeared. They acknowledged past bad hires with sour grapes who would put bad reviews out and say yeah, there are some bad feelings out there but they always come down because we’re actually the good guys. Ugh. I fell for it. Don’t. Fall for it. The truth is they have some good fundamentals that draw you in. Well, it’s just the one fundamental: 2 of 3 partners do and know seo extremely well. Beyond that, they are a toxic group who disagree with each other on just about every basic business tenet; they have created a chaotic environment where they know anyone could (would. should.) leave at any time, which is why they will require you to cc the entire agency on every email. In case you leave. In case they fire you unexpectedly. In case you drop the ball as a human being. In case they can use it to critique anything about you. They micro manage and they admit it. Maybe they don’t admit it anymore but they used to, because “so many” had let them down. Turn on your camera. Write your emails like this. Open this tab. Why do you only share the one app? Share your entire screen. What are you hiding? In their world, you do not start at an assumed level of professional trust. In their world, you are always hoodwinking them, and they are always the plucky executives to catch you at time theft of any kind, even if you’re not committing it. At one point they created an anonymous suggestion form, then complained that people were using it to put forth suggestions that were semi critical. Why? The truth is, they are absolute, unequivocal narcissists. They built this company in hopes others would worship them. Both employees and clients. There are so many petty examples I could give, because these guys are extremely petty, but from reading the rules on how to write reviews that don’t get removed, I’ve learned that specifics can be debated (and removed), generalities and hyperbole are fine. So here it is. Oh, Partners of Razor Rank, you toil on a house of cards. None of you believe in each other or anyone you have hired. You have never learned that there is a difference between management and leadership. You treat your employees as subordinates and criminals. And yes, you absolutely turn on the charm to make them feel like “aw shucks we’re just the good guys and we value you so much and we’re just so misunderstood.” It’s all a lie. I think the worst part of Razor Rank is what consummate liars and manipulators they are. Until they’re too tired to put on the facade any more. Until you’re no longer of use to them. Do yourself a favor. Skip razor rank. Also, if you’re still on the fence? Try googling the names of all 3 partners and then determine if these are people you want to do business with. Do you fellas need some seo? Hit me up.

Thank you for your feedback. We take all employee input very seriously. At Razor Rank we are continually working to improve our systems in an effort to provide better and more personalized service to our clients and employees. These improvements also include our hiring process. We pride ourselves on not only having the best talent but an open line of communication internally and externally. If there are hesitations from an applicant, we like to find out what those hesitations are and address them. We also pride ourselves on having high professional standards. This includes dressing professionally, appearing on camera for meetings, tagging the agency on emails, etc. Our policy on emails was put in place not only to help identify issues and resolutions more efficiently but also to protect our employees. We were as proactive as we could be as we headed into the pandemic. We initiated new telecommuting policies allowing the team the freedom to work from home well before the mandated lockdowns began. Out of an abundance of caution, we ended up mandating work from home the week before the country shut down. We provided extra equipment, desks, monitors, and offered to subsidize those that did not have high-speed internet to help ensure that we could continue with business as usual. As the world moved into the “new normal” we were all faced with, including a fractured workforce, team members feeling isolated, and the new challenge of trying to replicate the amazing company culture we had been cultivating for years, we initiated new standards for intraday communication within the team. We made some mistakes along the way, but since the very beginning, we have put our team’s health and safety as our number one priority, and have not once forced a return to the office. We created the anonymous form during the pandemic to help those who wanted to share feedback about these new policies, the company, the partners, other teammates, our benefits, and other points of feedback when they were not comfortable sharing their feedback publicly. By sharing the anonymous feedback with the team and responding as well as we could, our responses were never critical of the feedback or the person submitting the feedback. Much like those who hide behind the veil of an anonymous profile on Glassdoor to share feedback that does not reflect the experience of the rest of our employees, we have had a one submission that made it clear that we had not been as transparent as we could be on some of our communications. Taking the time to share the feedback with the team and set the record straight directly reflects the purpose of the feedback form. More often than not, we have made many great changes to the organization due to feedback submitted through the anonymous form. As a result of our anonymous feedback form, Razor Rank has instituted changes in policies and benefits including adding a more affordable family health plan, adding a 100% company paid health insurance plan, we added summer Fridays during the summer of 2020 and additional paid holidays, we eliminated some of the weekly touch-base meetings that the team felt were too time consuming and unproductive. The list goes on and on, and ultimately the new form ended up reminding the team that we have an open door policy for all feedback giving the team the confidence that their voices are heard, whether or not the feedback they give us is directly from the individual or submitted through the feedback form. We did build this company with the hope that both our employees and our clients would love us. Not only were we hoping they would love and respect the leadership team we have assembled, we also hope that both our employees and clients would love what we were building and the great results we produce for our clients. I’m not sure that any one of the partners or the members of our leadership team are looking to be “worshiped,” but with the number of tenured, happy employees, long-term fruitful client relationships, and a significant inbound referral pipeline of new business, we must be doing something right. Even through the pandemic, and since the inception of the company, we have been able to grow the business through a strong partnership between three great partners that all have the best interest of everyone involved. We welcome feedback and are always trying to improve to make Razor Rank a great place to work, and if anyone is considering a career with Razor Rank and would like to learn more about our company culture and what a great place Razor Rank is to work, reach out to me directly, or even better, reach out to anyone on our team that has been with us on this journey since the very beginning. They will give you their experience without the need for hyperbole and generalities. I wish you the best in your future and always had the highest hopes that you were going to go far in your career. Best of luck in the future, Jason Campbell Manuel President Razor Rank LLC
