      Avantages

      Old-world publishing atmosphere. Very laid back, nice little extras along the way.

      Inconvénients

      Upper management is undergoing a radical change. Old philosophies are making way for new, which is not necessarily a good thing. Upper management promised in October 08 that there would be no layoffs - and 20 people were laid of in December 08. Nice.

      Avantages

      They use modern programming languages (PHP, Perl, XQuery), Mark Logic Server, and are always open to exploring new technologies to make their products better. Cutting edge software development for some products. Good management. Small company that's been around forever and that's going to be around for a very long time. Programming peers with a great deal of experience and expertise.

      Inconvénients

      They have a monopoly on ISBNs and therefore they don't need to work as hard at acquiring and retaining customers. This results in services that are not quite up-to-date or current with the times.
