Avantages
no one standing over you, get to wear what you like, work in your own zone, no set breaks or lunch, and once your work is done you can clock out and go
Inconvénients
There are six of us in our department, including myself. I requested to work independently so that I could remain focused and maintain productivity. My supervisor approved this, which I truly appreciate. Since that adjustment, however, there has been some noticeable distance between myself and the rest of the team. Work that is meant to be shared or passed along is often communicated among the other employees, but I am not always included in that workflow. As a result, my tasks sometimes sit untouched or are not acknowledged the same way others’ work is. While I continue to come in, do my job, and remain respectful, it has created a feeling of being separated from the group. I understand that every workplace has different personalities and dynamics. I simply hope for an environment where communication is consistent, and everyone feels included in the flow of work. While I am strong and able to manage my responsibilities, I recognize that this type of situation could be discouraging to someone who may not handle pressure the same way.
