Avantages
My co-workers were sane, fun people who were very respectful towards me and helped me learn the ropes. Working there gives you a hefty discount on classes if you decide to pursue certification as a tax prep professional.
Inconvénients
During tax season, H&R hires a bunch of part time people so they don't have to pay full time benefits. Still, I was glad to be on hourly; the tax pros have it tough. They don't make a lot if they're not working steadily. Management will also try to make you attend long staff meetings without being paid for your time, sometimes pretty far away, with no compensation. (If you just refuse though, there's no consequences.) My manager also acted like we weren't allowed to swap shifts or request hours when it was inconvenient for him (again, no consequences if you just stand your ground about it in a respectful way).
