Avantages
I joined GL as a fresher and all of my presumptions about work life, corporate world, "how bosses are a headache", etc all proved to be wrong. It was the best possible transition from college to office. Pros on the org level, lots actually - work life balance - flexi work hours - cool working environment and a laid back culture - helpful and supporting people in all departments esp. HR (People Dev. as they call themselves). - WFH is common - leaved are approved easily Taking about projects and work, It was an easy transition from technology training (for freshers) to projects. The project lead and the manager from my first project made sure we were given right amount of work and responsibility slowly and progressively which never became too much to feel any kind of work pressure. Pros on the proj level - technology learning - got to follow processes during development - agile, scrum - got to interact with the client - reporting manger was supportive and backed team members in case of small mistakes With flexi working hours and no in-time out-time restrictions working flexibly was always great. As long as you complete your work (easily @ 7hrs/day) nobody cares if you leave early or come late. At my experience and level i didnt get to deal or meddle with the top management, but our batch got to interact with the CEO and MD a number of times. I would really like to work again with this company and would like to retire here if i stay in the IT world that long.
Inconvénients
Few but considerable:- - very low increments (4% in my case being a star performer) - lost lots of good clients and business recently - some of the freshers were sent to sabbatical because of lack of projects - cost cutting -moved to a new campus in Noida SEZ from main Noida IT hub A recent acquisition by the Apax Partners may improve things, probably.
