Some good and some bad - Avis employé Employé (anonyme) Filevine

I found that the things there were valued and celebrated were not things I agreed with for the most part. Recognition was often given for working during PTO. I felt that taking time off was frowned on, even though we had unlimited PTO. I still took meetings and calls on all my PTO. I felt like some management was difficult for me to work with. (My direct manager was amazing though!) There were some interactions, that to me seemed pretty unhealthy. I personally don't think "stupid" should ever be used to describe an employee or their work in a professional setting, but it was, unfortunately. I was also told things like " I don't care if this is rude." It seemed to me that there was the typical tech start-up mentality of "we're gonna change the world with our software" but honestly it reminded me a lot of the WeWork documentary on Hulu—a lot of focus on growth and how they are perceived and not so much focus on the real people actually there. I was also promised several things in the recruiting process that never really happened and that my bosses were unaware of when I started. To be totally candid, this job felt like a mixed bag of mostly very kind and hard working people, a good opportunity, some more difficult people, somewhat traumatizing interactions, and contradicting messages. I will say I learned a lot while I was there.
