Avantages

I was offered an internship while I was still in school, and they hired right out of college with 0 IT experience.

Inconvénients

-50+ hours a week - no working with family/personal life (worked through my vacations every year) -Job was integrated with CapitalOne associates, but CMI didn't cater or take care of their employees -TERRIBLE compensation and refused wage increases even after my 3+ years of employment -Not afraid to let contractors go at a drop of a hat. I was 'let go' and rehired for another position within the same week twice during my stay. -No career advancement in sight after initial employment. -Didn't compensate for my PTO days after I gave my two weeks... The CFO claimed he was 'not knowledged about that process' and deferred me to HR, who was conveniently out for my remaining time with the company.

Avantages

Good company to work for. Casual and fun environment. Excellent growth opportunities.

Inconvénients

If you're just looking for a paycheck, don't work there. It's a place where management wants people engaged at all times.

Avantages

Good client work. PSAs provide long-term work; no two-year limit. CMI leaves you alone as long as the client is happy.

Inconvénients

No raises over most of a decade despite glowing reviews from the client and repeated requests from me. At one point, CMI acquiesced to a reduction in billing rate which was passed on to me as a significant salary cut. I finally dropped their insurance when my contribution increased to more than $20,000/year. No 401(k) match, and worse, they failed audits that resulted in a large part of my contributions being refunded to me as regular income, eliminating the tax advantage. Original offer included just 10 days of PTO for both vacation and sick time—I had to negotiate *up* to two weeks vacation and five sick days. Just like raises, repeated requests for additional PTO were summarily denied.
