Avantages
- Work-life-balanced. Most of engineers go to work from home at about 9 am ~ 10 am and go home at 6 pm ~ 7 pm (rarely work late until 8 pm). Workdays are from Monday to Friday and no overtime at weekends. - Friendly working environment. There are usually a bunch of weekly activities, like board game on every Friday. There are also activities like Yoga, fitness and reading. - Decent pay. Average salary might be higher than semiconductor companies, and a bit lower than Internet industries. It's decent enough for living in China.
Inconvénients
- Too much legacy codes in products and they're hard to maintain. Some codes were written in such a ugly way that I wonder whether they were written by somebody that had no programming experience. - High senior employees turnover rate. Many senior employees turn over to positions with higher salaries in other companies due to many reasons, especially for house purchasing. Houses in big cities in China is pretty expensive compared to its living cost.
