Avantages
Generally stable, seen many people work 30 plus years here. Being govt contractor, lots of rules in place to protect employee, like limits to uncompensated OT for individual contributors. This can be a pro or con I suppose. Lots of good resources throughout company to help you network and grow, but you have to take initiative to seek and follow.
Inconvénients
If working for SSC, software technologies used may seem out dated. Change process is slow and the culture seems to reflect. Its good for those seeking more stable, not so fast paced job. Can be boring for those energetic and passionate types trying to stay at cutting edge. This was for Space only, other parts of company are bit more in tune with latest software trends
