      Inconvénients

      The current management culture feels increasingly toxic. Many employees seem more focused on pleasing top management than on doing meaningful work. There is little support from leadership for the team’s success, which creates a discouraging environment. Despite working hard, recognition and appreciation are largely absent.

      Avantages

      Vention offers modern, well-designed offices that provide a comfortable and stimulating work environment. The company also promotes a clear long-term vision centered on transforming industrial automation, which can be motivating for employees who align with this ambition. Finally, Vention is fundamentally a software-driven company: its platform is intuitive, easy to use, and represents a strong asset for users and employees working on a product with a strong software-first approach.

      Inconvénients

      Vention promotes itself as a values-driven company, but internal reality tells a different story. I witnessed a Berlin-based engineer being dismissed in a five-minute meeting after five years with the company, a situation known by many at the Montreal HQ, revealing a clear gap between stated values and actions. The culture is marked by hypocrisy and internal politics. Much of the management lacks industry experience, yet claims to “deliver customer value” while offering products that are often twice the market price and still technologically immature. Success within the company appears to depend more on being a yes-man than on competence or critical thinking.
