    Avantages

Anyone can get a job at TQL.. well almost. If you have years of sales experience, have a strong background, and come from a position where you made 100k+, they won't want you. They want "hungry" individuals; those down on their luck, no experience, or those who think that this is the best opportunity given their circumstances. No education? No problem. Criminal record? No problem. Barely speak English? No problem.... TQL just wants to fill seats. As long as you are breathing and can use a phone, you're hired. Honestly, if this sounds like you, then TQL can be a good job. It is a great steppingstone in the logistics, sales, and brokering industries (though watch out for the year non-compete). You will be put into the fire face first, at least half don't make it through the trial period, not by being fired, but just from giving up. If you've got the drive and willingness to learn on your own and are happy with the base pay you will come out the other side feeling like a grizzled vet with the work ethic of a champion and the confidence to blow through your next job opportunity, but that leads me to the Cons.

    Inconvénients

For 90-95% of employees this job will never be more than a stepping stone. Commission is structured in a way to limit yout potential earnings (even though they preach uncapped commission). You aren't paid commission upfront. You only get commission when your customers pay AND if enough customers pay at once on the same week to go over your BASE. If your customers pay late you get zero dollars. The industry standard... for payments of freight is on average longer than TQLs terms and most customers pay by mail which adds a week+ to the terms. Most payments come in at the very last second and it's often that a large commission check will disappear before your eyes. Its 100% depended on how your customer pays and if they are reputable and pay on time. You have to make a lot of money to hit commission. It is not easy to hit these numbers. Many get close and either get discouraged or fail and at least more half of all employees never see a commission check before quitting. It seriously hard. So hard that you will find yourself price gouging your own customers out of desperation. You will charge your customers 100% to 300%+ markups if not more just trying to hit your goal. Youll knowingly stick it to others and underpay drivers just to try and get by. Once you are out of your "training" (which is a nice way to say assistant with a lot of responsibilities.), Make no mistake, this job is a popularity contest. Thos who do well are popular. Those who do not are forced out. You must conform or fail. If you are not popular you will be hounded, harrassed, and treated poorly as you stress and work 60+ hours a week trying to turn your luck around until you quit or are terminated. Honestly, 9/10 employees quit willingly, I've almost never seen someone fired. I've seen someone knowingly steal from the company and their own customers multiple times and still keep their job. I've seen someone come into work drunk and hungover and be allowed back the next day. I've seen a broker assault another broker without being fired. Or someone calling off two times a week for a year. If you are popular and you are making the company money you will feel untouchable. You will feel like a king. You will get special treatment, you will leave early, come in late with no trouble, you will be given free customers from the employees who didn't make it, and you will be given every inch of leeway to not hit your goal without ever being reprimanded. (Tips to be liked: Read all the good reviews and repeat exactly what they say in the office and in your interview. When ever you make a sale preach hard work and dedication even if you were just lucky. There is no luck. You are a model of what TQL stands for. Stay just late enough for the bosses to think you work hard. Go to all employed events. Pretend you're a team player and help others by preaching to them.) Honestly it's a hard and thankless job that will kill your social life outside of work. Your favorite hobby will be complaining about other less committed employees and praising TQL. You will allow yourself to be brainwashed into chasing a pipe dream that you'll make it big here even though less than 1% do. You will wake up in the middle of the night every night, not just by phone calls, but by the fear of phone calls. You won't sleep. The more money you make the less you will sleep. It will almost kill you, BUT... if you stick it out for a year or more you will have worked the hardest you'd ever work in your life in a office job, you will have the work ethic of a God, and you will be ultra employable. When you tell your next job you were on call 24/7/365 doing sales, operations, accounting, customer retention, and maintaining your own book of business in the most volatile and cut throat industry on the planet they will almost no doubt hire you on the spot. TQL is a horrible amazing terrible yet thrilling adventure in the best pyramid scheme slash boiler room wolf of wallstreet cult you'll ever find where you'll both hate and love yourself and your job and come out the other end changed. You'll have seen it all. Even a few letters in the mail from the US Govt department of labor asking you about TQLs practices. You'll both regret and love the opportunity. And you will be almost guarentee to double or tripple your salary at your next job. Just have to ask yourself how down and out you are or how desperate you are. If you want a crash course college degree in negotiation and sales, this is it. If you want a career, good work life balance, and a commission based job you'll make money at keep looking, this isn't for you. You won't appreciate the awful opportunity. Thanks TQL.

    Conseils à la direction

Also all these other reviews are faked. Our management makes us write them. Everyone is brainwashed enough to do it and that's why you hear the same thing over and over. Its all both true and false simultaneously. They believe it when they write it, then they dont when they give up.

    Avantages

TQL is what you make it. If you want a free handout this is not the job for you. If you believe in working hard to give yourself financial freedom then you won't find a better job out there. Where else can you make over $100k within your first 2 years? It's not a fairytale, it's reality.

    Inconvénients

You gotta work hard. No exceptions for hard work. If you have a poor work ethic, this isn't for you.

    Inconvénients

-You work a lot, but you are rewarded for it. I work between 55-60 hours a week but I make $200k a year. There isn't a job out there where you can make that kind of money and only work 60 hours per week while not working on the weekends.

    Conseils à la direction

Keep doing what you're doing and only hire candidates with a good work ethic and want to make serious money.

    Inconvénients

In the interview process we try really hard to convey the message of how much work it will take to build your book of business but I think it goes unheard some times. Once in sales expect to put the time in to be successful. Work nights and weekends, eat and sleep TQL for the first year of sales and you will be happy with the outcome.

Je travaille chez Total Quality Logistics à temps plein depuis plus de 5 ans

    Avantages

The earning potential is unlimited. The culture is energetic and friendly to all walks of life. Even though everybody is running their own books of business teamwork is highly emphasized. TQL will teach you everything that you need to know and give you all the tools to succeed. The only thing that will hold you back here is yourself. There is almost an unlimited amount of freight out there so everybody has a shot at... making it.

    Dérouler

    Inconvénients

long hours are required if you want to become truly successful. I haven't seen on person in my years that has only ever done 8-5 and made it. Commission structure is less than favorable. It's setup in a way that you won't see a check unless you are consistently putting up high numbers. It's even worse on the multi mode side. They only pay out 5% to that group and there are no increases to the base pay over time. If... you're in a remote office the amenities stop at free coffee. There's no real upward mobility that will pay you more. All of the different titles you can gain come with nothing but increased responsibility and headaches. Turn over is HIGH so it's hard to make any friends since most people don't make it past the 1st year.
