    Avantages

    - Really good staff benefits for full time employees. - Decent starting wage for full time employees. - Very good for people looking to get into the Husbandry line of work. Lots of opportunity for learning. - They have SO much potential, being a facility that is geared towards children and making them excited about the creatures and the wild places of the world.

    Inconvénients

    Company Cons: - More focus on entertainment and showy than educational or practical exhibits (to be expected, as it is an entertainments company). - There's an ingrained sense of entitlement in certain departments in regards to advancement. Individuals who have put zero effort into advancing their careers are somehow given better treatment than those that have invested time and energy to learn their desired field... of work. Arizona Specific Cons: - There is no support for the lower staff, either from within or without. Already overworked staff are usually told to participate in extraneous activities without proper notice or compensation. - Animal welfare is rock bottom. Despite requests for better vet care, facilities, and collection plans, nothing gets done. - Credit is not given where it is due unless management likes you. - Very toxic working environment. If you are not a 'Yes' Man, then you will be ignored and criticized for even speaking up. If you choose to leave, then you will be blamed for things not getting done. - Certain members of management have been caught in lies, and even when brought to HR, very little seems to be done about it. - Staff (and by proxy, customer) health and safety comes second to business profits. Severe health concerns were ignored until several people left the business as a result, but they would not be addressed because it would cost too much money.

    Pay attention to your lower staff. When there is an ~70% turnover within a single department within a year, and 80% within a year and a half, with the main reason being the same person there is likely a problem. Toxic work environments can make some staff feel very uncomfortable about speaking out except at the very end, especially when trends of retaliation and rebukes occur within certain levels of management.... Staff have been lied to and given excuses, and when their managers are caught in the lie, they blame it on someone else. Even in a review I do not feel comfortable disclosing any more information than necessary, for fear of retaliation towards a team that doesn't deserve it from a manager with a bad history of treating people poorly.

    Flexible hours, low stakes if you mess up, animal exhibits are taken care of very well.

    Ridiculously low pay, high turnover, calcified and clannish management + displays team, displays team withholds information, negligible advancement opportunities

    Happy well paid employees equal happy guests who want to come back. Pay us competitive wages and let us do our jobs the best way. If this attraction wasn't run by Merlin it would probably be much better. Employees here desperately need collective bargaining agreements and/or union representation because Merlin purse strings are artificially tight. Expect to see declining profits as corporate neglects to invest in... this location and its passionate, motivated employees.

    Your management team is extremely disorganised and need make sure all employees feel welcomed and understand everything about the job. No training was given and new employees had to figure it out on their own. Their is a lot of misinformation coming from a lot of employees, one person says one thing and others inform you of other things. You claim to have a strict policy for both employees and customers but it seems... that management is biased in favour of the people who are permanent at the job. In regards to policy for customers, management become lenient when policy is supposed to be followed making the employer look stupid in front of the customer. Also prior to actually working the company had basted about employee benefits non of which had been given to us. On the last day of employment no one was informed of anything and no thanks or formal dismissal was given to seasonal employees. Extremely unprofessional. Please in the nicest way possible FIX UP! thank you.

    -Not enough breaks for the volume of people you have to deal with -Tied down to the position you're in: you don't move except to take breaks -Loud: all surfaces echo and guests CANNOT hear you -Can be extremely mentally demanding -Lots of impatient / frustrated / easily angered guests -Not enough interaction between separate branches of employees within Sea Life -Very much a burn-out job: high turnover... rates -Pay should be higher
