    Avantages

    It feels great to work for a company where not only are the managers understand but they listen to suggestions and opinions - Never make you feel like your ideas and unimportant. The HR team is amazing and extremely approachable. I joined NRS Media when I was experience major family issues and for being a new employee, upper management went above and beyond to accommodate me! I am thankful to be part of a company that leaves not only the opportunity to grown but endless future growth!

    Inconvénients

    After being here for just over a year - I honestly can't say there are any cons at all. I have not had a negative/bad day at NRS Media yet and I don't anticipate one in the upcoming future. I'd have to say the only con would be that I didn't join the team years ago!

Fast growing company that focuses on helping SMEs acquire new customers and effectively build their brand in their respective communities.

    Sometimes, the success of a campaign is based on which market you work on instead of your abilities as a sales executive.

    - Entry level salary is low
    - Travel can be a pro but can take away from personal life (travelling on a Sunday to get to work location for Monday AM)

    Avantages

    NRS Media is one of the best environments i have worked at. The support and encouragement from the managers and other staff members is amazing and something that is hard to come by. The interaction that you get to have with hundreds of businesses from all over the world and the ability to really help their business is something i thrive off of. I was fortunate enough to be able to help a business owner who was about to shut down his business completely. With our expertise and offerings, he left feeling hopeful and uplifted about the opportunities to come. This role really pushes you out of your comfort zone and will enhance your sales skills throughout your life.

    Inconvénients

    The only thing that may be difficult is some of the time differences and travel. The travel aspect can be very exciting and an amazing experience but can be difficult for some.

    Avantages

    Great learning experience in dealing with average business owners. Amazing training on how to speak to businesses about growing their market shares. Greatest take away is when a struggling business owner came up to me and hugged me for helping her come up with a strategy to helping her business grow

    Inconvénients

    Working in different markets requires the employee to work in different time zones which means working off hours. It can be tough for those with small kids but it only lasts for about 6 weeks.

    It is always great to know that the manger of a program has your back and wants the sales executives to succeed. It is also great when the manager leaves room for the sales executive to run their own accounts as if it was their business. Hands off is just as effective as hands on

    Avantages

    Coworkers are generally exceptional people - outgoing and motivated. International presence allows for opportunities overseas if you want it. When I was there, the company was still independently owned. The owners took care of us. It was like a family. I don't know how the company operates now that it has been bought out.

    Inconvénients

    Travel is all consuming! Be prepared to have that be your life! If you are OK with that, then this is not a con. I have also heard from other ex-employees that it is hard to move on from the company. Many people find themselves in a niche after working here that they can't translate into other careers. Please keep in mind, these comments refer back to when I worked there. Since then, the company has undergone massive change and new management. Some of the people I worked with are still there. Many have left.

    Avantages

    - Some of the best people I have ever worked with. Most peers are helpful and will try to keep you sane from all of the changes that are happening.

    - 2 week boot camp (training) was world class. Most of the sales training I still use in my current role with a different company.

    - If you are coming out of school and are looking for experience, this is the place for you. This will look really good on your resume, so stick around for a year and get out as soon as you can.

    Inconvénients

    Management tells you we are 'building the plane as we fly', well, the plane's running out of runway space and it seems like its not going to be taking off.

    - Pay- you will only make your base, between 32k to 40k annual, no one makes OTE of 80k. The closest someone got to 80k was 60k, and I think that was 1 person. Salespeople don't come to a company to make a base, they want to make base and commission.

    - Targets- ridiculously high targets. Most American programs have targets between 50k to 90k and you have to close at least 110% in 4 days because there will be some revenue that will fall off after presentation week.

    - Commute- If you're coming in from Toronto, don't bother applying. They are looking to move offices, most likely further west, and you won't be making any commission to offset the commute.

    Hours- depending on the program you are on, this job is not 9-5 or 8-4. If you are working with a media partner in the UK, you're working UK hours.

    Turnover- constant turnover, whether forced or not. In 2016 alone, there has been 4 Account Directors, 1 Inside Sales Manager, 18 Inside Sales Executives (14 Inside Sales Executive where fired in 1 day) that have already left the company.

    Stop trying to scale too fast. Concentrate on the Canadian media market first. There is still a lot of newspapers, out of home, radio, and TV networks that you have not worked with in Canada.

    Right now, you're trying to scale too fast and think the money is in US programs. There hasn't been one successful US program. ISEs are getting frustrated because they are not getting paid any commission and you will continue to see high turnover.

    I understand the long term play is to be the 'trusted advisor of SMBs all over the world' by starting in advertising. Eventually offering not just advertising to SMBs but insurance, cloud computing/data, IT support, but it doesn't seem this will happen if you're not investing in your people.

    The current model is all wrong. Any feedback you tell management, will be ignored and you'll more then likely be fired even if you're one of the few that hits a target and gets commission paid.

    lack of training for such a changing work environment and not enough management support or belief in the team at hand. your bad planning is not our emergency.
