    Avantages

    Good work life balance Option to buy 5 more holiday days is great CEO is a straight talker, much needed, talks (never saw the old ones face) and provides to us his visions and plans on Workplace Location is semi-decent (egton) Support for Women and LGBT is great too.

    Inconvénients

    Egton building is so outdated, Can do all the toilet renovations you want but it still looks like a Heinz beans tin can. Pay isn’t great, compared to other Leeds centre jobs (others paying 4/5k more starting) A lot of redundancies and very hush hush leavers - people would feel more comfortable knowing why so many high profile changes are happening. Some managers in the business.. you wonder how they manage... to tie their shoes on a morning!! Not sure what other teams do, with all the new staff joining there needs to be some sort of workshops where teams can inform other people what their purpose is, Its easy to feel excluded A LOT of moaners, EMIS is changing so deal with it, leave! if you’re unhappy and don’t bring others down with you.

    Avantages

    Possibility of doing something socially beneficial, relaxed appoach to certain things like dress code and timekeeping, some of the staff are genuinely fantastic

    Inconvénients

    Many mid to senior roles filled by yes-men promoted well beyond their abilities, horrible old products to support in spite of attempts to create something new and worthwhile, development and testing slowly but surely being shifted to India.

    Avantages

    Great place to work in the development or project management area because they are pushing forward with new technologies to improve healthcare which is a satisfying area to be in.

    Inconvénients

    Supporting functions, such as customer facing roles are in a state of change at the minute causing uncertainty in the work force with some departures leaving gaps and more strain on colleagues. This is probably temporary and steps are being taken to rectify this.

    Great vibe in the office, everyone is very friendly and welcoming. They look after you well once you have been there for a while.

    The whole ethos of emis is to improve patient outcomes/lives by delivering quality software solutions...

    Inconvénients

    There are a lot of problems within emis which can all be attributed to the senior leadership team, with this I include directors and C level. Senior leadership, clearly don't understand the business, as mass redundancies to facility a simplistic operational model (some call it streamlining) has not worked, now they have no experienced staff to support existing contracts...I can only imagine they'll have... increasing fines (like the widely published fines of millions due to mis-reporting) associated with these decision, will those who made the decision be held accountable...or was this budgeted for... Lack of senior leadership engagement with the operational teams, decisions being made without any consultation with those dealing with the day-to-day operational side of the business...caring? certainly not, very much do as we say or get out attitude.... Lack of core knowledge in the product/market, due to mass redundancies and loss of talent due to above two points Lack of talent to deliver emis x, due to above. Pay not in line with industry standard for IT healthcare, no bonuses, appreciate that this will be refuted but this is my genuine experience. Performance reviews are not measured, senior management make the decision based on their own view, as no formal performance review process existed No culture, business direction is very focused on the share price, the current CEO's main driver when brought on board no doubt.

    People build a business... The senior leadership (C level) need to stop and think about what their legacy will be...If the whole point of bringing in a new CEO was to push the share price up (by reducing operational cost, i.e. headcount) and sell the business then well done you're almost there, if however, the point is to build a culture where people feel valued, were people look forward to coming into work in... the morning to deliver for their CEO, who they believe in and want to follow then you've failed. Focus less on the money and focus on the people who make you the money...

    Workspace and equipment is modern and up to date.

    Elitism amount the management team is a problem so if you do not fall in line with there imagine you are done for.

    Managing people isn't about beating people down for their flaws so I suggest in the future you hire people with the patience to help improve them rather than simply highlight their weaknesses.
