Our Big Molly site near Glenevis (40 minutes northwest of Spruce Grove) is our regional Sand Processing Facility where we mine, wash and dry frac sand for direct shipment to our customers. We take pride in our product and value our employees while providing a close-knit, local place to work.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

The 3rd or 4th Year Apprentice Millwright / Industrial Mechanic is responsible for ensuring that plant production is optimized by thoroughly inspecting and maintaining all required sand plant equipment. When the plant is not in production, the Apprentice will assist with all maintenance and projects assigned by the Maintenance Manager. Frac Sand Facility experience is preferred, candidates with direct / relevant experience will be prioritized.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate all equipment Safely in accordance to manufacture specs and Wayfinder Policies; Provide maintenance support by keeping all rotating and stationary equipment clean, lubricated and maintained
• Assist with production equipment screen changes, shoveling, clean up and general maintenance to limit production down time when the plant is not in operation
• Complete pre-inspection checks on the facility and it’s equipment for Safe operation
• Perform inventory counts of maintenance related parts, maintain accurate and up to date inventory reporting of tools etc.
• Maintain cleanliness of workshop and yard, assist maintenance team with repairs during downtime, and perform other duties as required by management

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Candidates should be currently Registered 3rd, or 4th Year Apprentices for the trade
• Previous Sand Process Plant experience is strongly preferred. The successful hire will be able to demonstrate their prior operational experience within sand processing plants, production, or other industrial settings
• Applicants with experience on centrifugal pumps, bearings, gear boxes and conveyors are encouraged to apply; strong industrial or production experience will be considered
• Mechanical aptitude and its applied experience in process plant, production or other industrial environments
• Strong computer skills are required, attention to detail with regular inventory control and it’s documentation
• Commitment to a 7 / 7 schedule
• Reliable transportation and Class 5 Drivers License (No-Restrictions / Clean Abstract)
