Ce poste joue un rôle essentiel en aidant les clients à optimiser leurs procédés, à valider leurs applications et à assurer l'intégration réussie de nos solutions de soudage au laser dans des environnements de production réels.
Le candidat idéal possède une expérience pratique du soudage au laser à fibre, une expérience en pliage, une solide compréhension du comportement métallurgique ainsi que la capacité de faire le lien entre les technologies de pointe et les exigences des clients.

Position Overview
Amada, a global leader in the machine tool business, is currently seeking a skilled Technical Consultant specializing in fiber laser welding to support our growing customer base and advanced manufacturing portfolio. This role is critical in helping customers optimize processes, validate applications, and ensure the successful integration of our laser welding solutions into real-world production environments.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with fiber laser welding, experience with bending, a strong understanding of metallurgical behavior, and the ability to bridge the gap between advanced technology and customer requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
● Represent Amada with professionalism to ensure high customer satisfaction during on-site visits
● Conduct process development, sample preparation, and time studies using fiber laser welding equipment.
● Lead customer demonstrations, proof-of-concept evaluations, and technical presentations both in-house and at customer facilities.
● Provide technical guidance for weld parameter selection, joint design, fixture requirements, and material compatibility.
● Collaborate closely with Sales, Product Management, and Engineering to determine best-fit solutions and support project scoping.
● Develop and maintain detailed application documentation, including weld procedures, process notes, and technical reports.
● Support equipment installation, commissioning, and operator training for new customers.
● Troubleshoot welding issues and provide ongoing post-sales technical support.
● Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in process stability, quality, and throughput.
● Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers and supervisors in person, by telephone, email, etc.
● Work productively both independently and in a group.
Qualifications
● Manufacturing Engineering experience, Materials Science, or related technical field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
● 2–5+ years of experience in laser welding (fiber preferred); experience with bending, laser cutting or laser automation is a plus.
● Strong understanding of:
o Laser-material interaction
o Weld metallurgy and heat-affected zones
o Welding defects and corrective measures
o Motion systems, automation, or robotics
● Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and weld specifications.
● Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex concepts to customers and internal teams.
● Comfortable working in a lab environment and at customer manufacturing sites.
● Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, CAD tools, or CAM software is beneficial.
● Possess valid Class G driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.
● Have a valid passport and be willing to travel to service our customers and for training.
● Post-Secondary education in a related field.
