Avantages

Virgin put alot of work into training their cabin crew, the recruitment process is long (all together was 6 months for me) and then an additional 5 weeks of training before you get your wings. When you finally reach the skies you will meet the most amazing people. Other Cabin Crew members and managers honestly want the best for you and yes of course there are a couple of "bad eggs" however 99% of the staff are lovely. You get to visit some amazing places, mainly USA.

Inconvénients

You will experience tiredness like never before, if you are commuting it can become dangerous. I was within their distance limit of 1 hr 45 minutes but crew travel from all over the UK and also Europe. I have spoken to staff who have been so tired they have been in serious accidents trying to get home. You are given rest on board however from my personal experience it is not always guaranteed. I have had 9 hour flights with no crew rest and also had 6 hour flights with management who dont believe in giving crew rest on under 8 hour shifts. Keep in mine that although the flight might only be 6/7 hours, you will be awake around 18-24 hours at a time. My longest time awake from one trip was 37 hours! The pay is disgraceful compared to other airlines and what the team put their bodies through. I was earing £19,200 and had to kill myself picking up extra trips for the additional sector pay of £56 per flight. However if you then fall into high hours, you will be sat at home with only your basic income.
