Avantages

Unity is open, global and connected. Regardless of the department you're part of, you get to learn from all the others. Plenty of interesting challenges to face every day. Flat management structure means anyone enjoys mild freedom to act, and gets to be heard (with pros and cons, admittedly). Good perks, food, and little extras. Generally there's a good culture of keeping people happy beyond the pay (which is alright), and respect for employees' health and everyday needs (at least in Europe…).

Inconvénients

As the company gets bigger some of the mission and focus is slowly getting lost. It's standardising on the Silicon Valley philosophy. Aggressive expansion plans damaging everyone involved. Increased focus on immediate raw numbers with little thinking about what they really mean on the long term. Mindless marketing campaigns are slowly ruining the brand image.

It's good to hear that you are learning from others and feel connected globally- we have over 31 offices around the world so it is important we feel like we can collaborate with each other. We have recently expanded beyond games and breaking into other industries including automotive, film, architecture, engineering, construction and more. With that, comes more marketing & growth- but we always want to stay true to our mission to democratize development, solve hard problems, and enable success.

Avantages

-Flexible WFH environment -Decent work life balance and good benefits for the US based employees

Inconvénients

-CEO and CFO insist on being based in New York, when the Company is based in SF. Earnings calls are at 5:30am because screw you West Coast. -CFO will stop at nothing until all the G&A, Accounting, Tax, and, Finance team members are located in Bangalore in an effort to cut costs. Offshoring is massive here and will only continue to expand. -Constant anxiety about layoffs. Sometimes they announce mass layoffs, but more often do it in smaller waves so as to not rattle the cage. -Top heavy org structure. There's probably as many or more SVP, VPs, Sr. Dir level folks as there are individual contributors/leads.
