Avantages

The mood is awesome. People are really easy to approach, everyone is trying to help and we feel trusted and empowered by the management team as they give us enough autonomy to solve our tasks. Perks are awesome (Lunch, Friday bars, Commute, Gym, you name it), and as an expat I've always felt supported and welcomed in the company.

Inconvénients

Having this level of autonomy for every team lead to some messy documentation, but the company is aware and we're trying to fix it. There are not that many junior positions. Company expects a really high performance from everyone. Managers know a lot about their areas, but some of them are still learning how to manage people.

Thanks for your review, it sounds like you are enjoying your work and feel able to contribute in a meaningful way. in 2017 Unity has grown to a point where we are both able to have more junior level talent (robust worldwide intern program, new grad opportunities) and are actively providing training to improve the skills of new and existing managers. We appreciate your suggestions and hope you feel the impact of our efforts!

Avantages

-Flexible WFH environment -Decent work life balance and good benefits for the US based employees

Inconvénients

-CEO and CFO insist on being based in New York, when the Company is based in SF. Earnings calls are at 5:30am because screw you West Coast. -CFO will stop at nothing until all the G&A, Accounting, Tax, and, Finance team members are located in Bangalore in an effort to cut costs. Offshoring is massive here and will only continue to expand. -Constant anxiety about layoffs. Sometimes they announce mass layoffs, but more often do it in smaller waves so as to not rattle the cage. -Top heavy org structure. There's probably as many or more SVP, VPs, Sr. Dir level folks as there are individual contributors/leads.
