      Avantages

      The best thing about UnderwriteMe is that nobody is really happy with how things are working right now. One may see this as a negative thing, but the company knows and acknowledges the issues and is trying hard to change things for the better. The company is growing from a small startup that said yes to every single client request, while desperately trying to get users at any cost, to a properly established product-oriented company. This type of change is not an easy thing to do as it takes a massive amount of willpower to accomplish the smallest change. Of course, this also means things are far from perfect and it can get frustrating pretty easily. But as changes keep coming, the products start to get better, new ideas start to take shape, etc, you can see the real potential we have. I believe this company can offer people a unique opportunity to make an impact, apply their expertise, grow, and learn, something that I value quite a lot!

      Inconvénients

      For me, one of the worst things about UnderwriteMe is the isolation of teams and streams of work within the company. I feel like teams from different products or even areas within a product don't communicate as much as they should. Given the relatively small company size, it seems sensible to have much more sharing of knowledge, idea, tools, etc, at all levels and not just at a management one.

We are constantly trying to work to ensure that we have the best suited products for our clients, so I am pleased that you have experienced this drive with your colleagues as well. Whilst there is change happening within our organisation, we believe that it will help us to achieve our aim of developing and innovative products that are used widely in the Protection space. We are encouraging teams to come into the office more to work together, and the quarterly UMe business meetings provide the opportunity to socialise with other UMe colleagues.       Avantages

      Nothing related to UnderwriteMe, only the parent company whose benefits filtered down.

      Inconvénients

      Where do I start. Majority of the senior team do not have any idea how to run a product engineering organisation. Constant change in priorities, nothing delivered of any note. Constant change in senior team members with no improvement. Non-existent strategy. Constant surveys but nothing done with them. Management do not listen to employees. Constant in-fighting. Terrible blame culture, each silo protecting their own and blaming the other team. Complete lack of accountability. Data driven and metric driven, unless you are management who impose changes on 'gut feel'.

      Its all good; parent company has deep pockets nothing matters too much work life balance, many meeting to attend you may never actually do any work
