Avantages

- A lot of technical learning opportunities - Has technical ladder to recognize technical talent - Probably has one of the best and most advanced test manufacturing facilities and system (database) in the industry - Broad market product portfolio - having to work at Texas Instruments is a nice addition to your resume

Inconvénients

- Need to work 210% in order to fully maximize the technical learning opportunities - Has to be a manager in order to go up the rung of the technical ladder (at least in the A/T manufacturing site) - Engineering responsibilities are so wide that there is no focus or specialization (you will know a little bit of everything but you are best in nothing) - Management is easily impressed by fancy presentations and glamorous but no so difficult projects - You are more likely to get a promotion or bonus if you work on a highly-visible project no matter how trivial it may be - Management is more willing to invest in machines rather than in people's welfare - More emphasis is given on providing quick patches to solve the problem right away rather than improving the system for long term stability - Salary and benefits is not that competitive - Poor work-life balance, production line owns your time

Avantages

Great learning opportunity, would recommend to new college grads Above average pay for the industry Very friendly colleagues who want to transfer knowledge WLB is team dependent

Inconvénients

Team has reduced to 1/3 of original size in less than 2 years, but BU is mostly hiring in India Refuses to hire externally in US (only internal reqs) to fill roles lost from attrition, instead management dumps responsibilities on rest of team members (with no pay raise to match) Management refused to address 2025 layoffs, employee morale is very low Limited mobility and (capped) yearly performance bonus Restructured profit sharing to effectively be a pay cut (-7%) Unclear job description, constantly changing priorities, management is out of touch with employees Innovation isn't emphasized, new products are mostly IP re-use Employee burn-out common Definite decline in work culture since 2023 RSU vesting schedule is bad (4 years)
