Avantages
This agency was a nice place to work. It seemed like the consumers were first and foremost in the agency's mind. Slowly but surely that changed. Then decisions started being made that steered them away from what the core mission was. They were always striving to be " THE BEST" but in that effort they veered away from caring about the consumers and more about how to drive their staff to the brink. The benefits of this job? Well if you have one of the "good" supervisors, you'll feel supported and won't be micromanaged. Most of your peers have good senses of humor and are good resources when you hit a tough case. If you aren't one of the lucky few? You'll enjoy incorrect answers and policy explanations.
Inconvénients
You will be given a workload that requires more time than what you are allotted. HR will tell you not to work over 37.5 hours, but your supervisor will penalize you if you aren't getting your work done on time. Revolving door of staff, to the point where you won't even bother to get to know people because they'll all be gone in 6 months. They use shady review practices. There is zero change for moving up, unless you are one of the select few brown nosers. Once you bring up an issue? Forget about getting a promotion or getting a good review- you will be marked in the eyes of management as a trouble maker. When you bring a difficult case for review, you will get suggestions and attitude that make it apparent people assume you're incompetent. Honestly try to go work at Mystic Valley, Somerviille Cambridge or BayPath.
