Avantages

1. The technology developed by the company sounds unique and interesting. 2. The company has an FDA-approved product, which is a big deal for a medical device company; 3. The payments sound fair to my best knowledge. 4. I did not see racial or gender discrimination in this company. 5. The location is very nice, with lots of good restaurants. 6. There are occasionally free snacks and food.

Inconvénients

1. Not profitable: The company is in the business for more than two decades under different names, and it is still not profitable. This trend of being on "life support" is not going to be sustainable unless a bigger firm buys the company. This is a concern for any employee because it means that they are walking on the edge everyday. 2. Toxic hierarchical: I saw that the employees are fearful of some VPs and managers. I heard and saw some nasty stories on how employees were treated by managers. Some seniors act as a boss rather than a manager or a lead. They do not consider themselves accountable for their bad decisions and poor judgement. 3. Weird communication: I saw a lot of smiling and laughing faces in the company, but it was just fake and a facade to hide the fear and the negative attitudes. Politics is extremely important in this company. Bottom line: I would avoid this company if I could go back in time.

Avantages

Nice people. Good culture. Higher compensation than expected for the type of work.

Inconvénients

Compensation is still not enough to keep up with the high cost of living in that area, so one must have another source of income besides work. Also, the work was boring and repetitive, and the role itself didn't seem to offer growth opportunities. There seemed to be a ceiling.
