Thanks for putting in your view. It is too bad you feel this way while you are at Roots. Clearly it is not working out for you. Would request you to reach out to someone in the team to resolve whatever the issues are - assuming this is not a FAKE review.
Re: Lock-in period
The primary objective of the lock-in period is to maximize the learnings of the individuals. It requires time for most of the individuals (and resources from the firm on training) to transform into a smart professional who can really deliver. However, at Roots, if an individual is struggling (an exception) and not able to learn as smartly as peers even after 12-18 months, we believe it is best for the individual to find alternatives within the lock-in period. It is a huge loss for the firm but we believe this helps the individual if there is a wrong hiring decision made initially. This is more than a fair way of operating and supporting young careers - instead of asking them to work forcefully if they are not able to enjoy or deliver.
Fact: in last 12 months, less than 5% of the analysts were underperforming. The analysts who were requested to leave from this pool were provided with enough support and time to be able to perform. We do understand sometimes it it just not meant to be despite the best support provided.
Re: Lack of management
We understand you are not happy with your current manager. Would request you to reach out to your coach OR to your buddy or alternative channels for course correction. The firm is young but smart – knows that we should learn from each negative experience. Continuing what we do everyday at Roots, would appreciate if you can help fix what is broken. Surely, we can do more and will continue to invest. Your inputs would certainly help improve.
