Avantages
Small company, so your work and efforts really mattered -- and they appreciated you for it. Good benefits, great hours & location, pretty average work load -- some busy times, some slow times. Management that would listen and take input. Limited supervision, with encouragement to "be the expert" and to use one's knowledge and abilities for the success of the company. Overall a great little company to work for.
Inconvénients
Small company, so there aren't many growth opportunities for the company or the employee. No real budget for much past the development of their product. Also, while management relies on the employee(s) to "be the expert", they do so because they do not have the knowledge and this has created communication problems between departments, delays, scrambling, etc.
