Avantages

Very good pay for the work you do. At least it was. Rentokil took over and is changing the structure to ensure you work more hours to get close to that pay. They have all the major benefits of a large corporation.

Inconvénients

That's it. No more good to tell here, and not sure that's even good anymore. The benefits are not great. They're available but nothing to brag about. The worst thing about working for Terminix in Bridgeville PA is definitely the culture or lack of culture. Management is horrible. They believe in a do as I say because I'm above you style Management. There isn't one manager that knows what leadership should look like. Worse still there is a manager there in termite that literally is proud to tell everyone that gets hired that he has no filter. Its his funny way of saying he doesn't care about anyone but himself and making his job as easy as possible. Pretty funny huh? The GM is famous for saying it's you and me until it's you or me. Sounds ok on the surface but it's not true. Do not trust a word out of his mouth. He only cares about branch profit which by the way equals GM bonus. It shows very plainly in the lack of equipment, lack of product availability, lack of spare vehicles, and a general lack of money spent on anything to enhance employee satisfaction.

Avantages

I was fortunate to work with some extremely talented local managers and some very talented technicians that cared for their customers.

Inconvénients

Senior leadership has no clear long-term strategy. Priorities change weekly, leading to "sprint" burnouts on projects that are ultimately scraped. Executive team is out if touch with market realities and the day to day challenges of staff. High employee turnover, leading to treading water without reaching any measurable goals. Upper management constantly overrules experienced local management. They balk at day to day practices but attempt to exert strict control over any decisions. There is zero trust in the teams capabilities, fostering a culture of second guessing and micromanagment. The Executive team plays favorites, and toxic behavior among senior staff is swept under the rug. Instead of fostering team cohesion, managers take credit for their subordinates hard work, and there is rampant interdepartmental sabotage.
