Avantages

Reflecting on my time at RPI Consultants, I find it essential to acknowledge both the positives and negatives. RPI initially stood out as a place that prioritized collaboration and unity to effectively serve its diverse clientele. It's a setting where longstanding relationships coexist with new ones. RPI genuinely promotes team cohesion, both in theory and practice, through platforms like MS Teams and company events. It's a place where connections are forged, and friendships are nurtured, often bonded by shared dissatisfaction with staff treatment. During my tenure at RPI, I established numerous connections and friendships that continue to play a significant role in my daily life, even after leaving the company. One undeniable advantage is witnessing former RPI team members flourishing in their new roles, illustrating a compelling argument for the benefits of joining the organization. At RPI, you acquire the skills to connect with clients, colleagues, and vendors, creating a valuable network for future endeavors. These skills encompass the ability to communicate with colleagues and friends and family about issues like inadequate compensation at RPI, a lack of work-life balance, and leadership's suppression of meaningful career discussions. Moreover, juggling the demands of over a dozen clients is a unique skill set that RPI provides, as I am confident you will not find that kind of volume on one person’s shoulders at a respected firm. In summary, RPI equips individuals with the tools to communicate effectively in various contexts, whether it's discussing negative mental health with colleagues, explaining work-related burnout to friends and family, or efficiently managing one's time on the weekends to meet billable goals. These skills are invaluable and distinctively cultivated at RPI.

Inconvénients

After careful contemplation, it becomes evident that one of the most significant drawbacks at RPI is the leadership, or rather, the lack thereof. Unlike my previous career experiences, where leaders were not indulging in lavish vacations while instructing layoffs, RPI leadership displayed traits such as personal extravagance, an obsession with appearances, and most of all, the audacity. Office politics, strategic maneuvers, and a blatant disregard for certain employees were constants in the workplace and on very public display as a tactic to keep challenges to leadership minimal. Company culture, often described as how employees feel on Sunday evening about Monday morning, is at RPI characterized by anxiety, burnout, micromanagement, and an occasional game of pop-a-shot, however the later will be passively acknowledging the importance of billing time. In conclusion, the foremost drawback is the absence of fair market compensation. For anyone considering a career at RPI, conducting thorough research to determine fair market value for your role is crucial, as you are likely to reach the same conclusion as many others.
