Avantages
As far as a contract goes, absolutely none, other than location.
Inconvénients
1. pay was poor @ £150 per day. For a contract job that is terrible. 2. The entire process of setting up the project was a shambles. The management didn't have a clue what they were doing and it was clear that at least one of them did not have a clue about contracting. Staff members were allowed to get away with anything they wanted based on their family ties to the team leaders. 3. I can't stress enough how unprofessional a large amount of the staff were, all allowed to happen on the watch of the team managers. Some of the staff were utterly incompetent and fraudulently put through cases knowing they wouldn't be checked to claim obscene amounts of overtime. This was all done at the ignorance of the team leaders at best, and at worst with their full knowledge. Not only this, but team managers helped incompetent team members to pass cases they shouldn't have passed simply because they were "cousins" or went to school together. 4. Finally, a large number of us were let go from the project and RFS refused to pay for 2 months work. This was done under the pretense of gross misconduct - however, I strongly disputed this and had to fight tooth and nail to get any explanation as to the reasoning. When I finally got my reasoning, it became clear that this had been done on the basis of a handful of cases and should have merited in a fail case at worse and NOT sacking and illegally withholding pay rightfully due to me. Unfortunately I was not in a position at the time to fund a legal case which myself and my lawyer were sure we would win. This event ended my contracting career due to cash-flow problems as a result of not being paid. the incompetence of RFS was responsible for a very hard year that followed. In any event, it turns out they did me a favour as I am now in a full-time Investments complaint role with a great environment and nearly comparable pay. 5. Senior management are just as useless. There was a complete lack of oversight of the project as a whole and no attempt to resolve the situation on the ground after having being notified of what was happening.
